Brokerage Calculator
Estimate brokerage and statutory charges for Indian equity delivery, intraday, futures and options trades, then compare broker pricing before you place the trade.
Comparison shows brokerage only. Statutory levies are market-wide; DP/account charges and promotional plans can differ.
Options mode estimates a normal premium buy-and-sell trade and does not model exercise, assignment or physical-settlement charges. BSE cash transaction fees can vary by scrip group. Always verify your broker contract note.
How to read your real trading cost
A low brokerage headline does not tell you what a trade really costs. Start with the broker fee, then add the market-wide levies. The calculator keeps those two layers separate so you can see what changes when you switch broker and what does not.
Statutory rates and broker presets reviewed by Dilip Kumar using NSE material and official broker tariff pages.

Broker-controlled cost
Brokerage depends on broker + plan + executed ordersChoose a broker preset for a quick estimate. If your account has negotiated or special pricing, use Custom broker in Advanced settings.
Market-wide levies
STT + Exchange/IPFT + SEBI + GST + Stamp dutyThe segment matters. Delivery, intraday, futures and options use different STT and stamp-duty bases, while exchange and IPFT outflow rates also differ.
Decision number
Net P&L = Gross P&L − Total chargesBreak-even and charges as a percentage of gross profit show whether transaction costs are material for the trade you are considering.
STT applies on buy and sell. Stamp duty applies on the buy side. A DP debit charge can apply when shares are sold from demat.
STT is charged on the sell side and DP debit is normally not involved. The calculator uses the non-delivery stamp-duty rate.
Enter lots, lot size and futures prices. From 1 April 2026, the calculator uses 0.05% sell-side STT on equity futures.
For a normal buy-and-sell premium trade, the calculator uses 0.15% STT on the sell premium from 1 April 2026. Exercise and physical settlement need separate treatment.

Why a ₹5,000 gross profit is not a ₹5,000 take-home profit
Example assumptions: Zerodha delivery on NSE, one executed order on each side, 100 shares bought at ₹500 and sold at ₹550, with a ₹15.34 final DP debit charge. The calculator estimates ₹131.77 of total charges and ₹4,868.23 of net profit.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use the Brokerage Calculator?
Choose delivery, intraday, futures or options; enter the executed buy and sell prices plus quantity or lots; select the broker and exchange; then review total charges, net profit or loss, break-even sell price and the live charts. Use Advanced settings when a trade used multiple executed orders or a different DP charge.
What does this Brokerage Calculator include?
It estimates brokerage, STT, exchange and IPFT outflow, SEBI turnover fees, GST, stamp duty and an editable delivery DP charge. It supports equity delivery, equity intraday, equity futures and equity options premium trades.
Are DP charges included in the Brokerage Calculator?
Yes, for equity delivery sales. The DP field is editable because the final debit charge differs by broker. Enter the final amount including GST shown in your broker tariff. DP charge is set to zero automatically for intraday, futures and options modes.
How is the break-even sell price calculated?
The calculator searches for the sell price at which sale value minus purchase value exactly covers brokerage, STT, exchange and IPFT outflow, SEBI fee, GST, stamp duty and any delivery DP charge. It recalculates charges at each candidate sell price instead of simply adding a fixed fee to the buy price.
Can I compare brokerage for Zerodha, Groww, Upstox and other brokers?
Yes. The calculator includes representative public pricing presets for Zerodha, Groww, Upstox, Angel One, 5paisa, HDFC Sky, Kotak Neo and ICICI Direct. Plan-based brokers are labelled with the plan used, and a custom-broker mode is available.
Why does the broker comparison show brokerage instead of total charges?
Brokerage is the main broker-controlled cost and can be compared consistently. Statutory charges are market-wide, while DP charges, subscription plans, promotional offers and some service charges vary by broker and account.
What changed in F&O STT from 1 April 2026?
For trades on or after 1 April 2026, STT on equity futures sales is 0.05% and STT on options sales is 0.15% of option premium. The calculator uses these current rates for normal buy-and-sell trades.
Why are delivery and intraday costs different?
Delivery equity attracts STT on both purchase and sale and may also have a DP debit charge when shares leave demat. Intraday equity uses sell-side STT at 0.025% and the lower non-delivery stamp-duty rate.
Is zero brokerage the same as zero trading cost?
No. STT, exchange transaction charges, SEBI turnover fees, GST on taxable service components and stamp duty can still apply even when broker brokerage is zero.
Why can my contract note differ from the estimate?
Actual charges can differ because of broker plan changes, multiple executed orders, rounding, DP charges, BSE scrip-group fees, exercise or physical-settlement events, promotional pricing and other account-specific charges. The contract note is authoritative.
